Former Australian player and currently Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey said that it would be very difficult to conduct the ICC T20 World Cup in India. Michael Hussey, who recently arrived in Australia after being corona negative, also thanked the BCCI. IPL 2021 was postponed indefinitely on 4 May, after the Covid-19 was infiltrated into the bio-bubble due to the arrival of new cases one after the other. In the same sequence, Chennai Super Kings batting coach Mike Hussey was also found to be Corona positive after the test. Now finally he has reached his country.




Hussey said during a conversation with Fox Cricket, "I think it will be very difficult to play ICC T20 World Cup in India. We are talking about eight teams of IPL 2021. According to me in T20I World Cup Eight or more teams will participate and due to this the number of venues will also be increased. As I said earlier, if they're playing in different cities, that is when the risk goes up "



Mike Hussey also said, "I think they'll have to look some pretty big contingency plans, perhaps looking at the UAE or somewhere like that that could host the World T20. I think there will be a lot of cricket boards around the world that'd be pretty nervous about going back to India for a cricket tournament, "



Keeping in mind the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting, which is to be held on 1 June, the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has convened a Virtual Special General Meeting (SGM) on 29 May.



During a conversation with ANI, sources inside the board said that there will be a discussion on hosting the T20 World Cup in this meeting of BCCI. The source also informed that in this meeting, BCCI will also discuss the possibilities of playing T20 World Cup in India in October-November.



The source further said that the ICC meeting is on June 1 and before that, in the meeting on 29th May, BCCI will discuss the status of COVID-19 and what measures can be taken for T-20 World Cup.



9 venues have been selected for the T20 World Cup - Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Dharamsala, and Lucknow.



In the last Apex Council meeting, the State Associations were instructed to start preparations for this event, keeping in mind the Covid-19 Pandemic.
