Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly announced on Sunday that Team India will visit Sri Lanka in the month of July. The team will play a series of 3 one day and 5 T20 matches on this tour. India's captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma will not be part of this series. The reason for the absence of Virat and Rohit is the World Test Championship. Both players will be busy in the preparation for the World Test Championship.

In such a situation, players like Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Chahar and Jaydev Unadkat can be given full opportunity to show their talent. According to the news of ANI, a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches will be played between India and Sri Lanka. The tour will begin with the One Day series which starts on 13 July. The second match will be played on 16 July and the third match on 19 July. The T20 series will be played between 22 to 27 July. After reaching Sri Lanka on 5 May, the Indian team will remain in quarantine for 1 week. They will not be allowed to practice on the first 3 days.
