On Wednesday, Cricket Australia released the 'Ashes Trophy' schedule. Cricket Australia has expressed hope that this series will be played in a stadium full of spectators. However, Cricket Australia also emphasized that during the Men's and Women's Tour of England in Australia, all the rules and instructions made by the government will be followed. The first match of the five-Test Ashes series to be hosted by Australia will be played on 8 December. After this a day / night match will be played in Adelaide. After this, the traditional Boxing Day Test will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

1st Test: December 8-12, Gabba
2nd Test: December 16-20, Adelaide Oval (D/N)
3rd Test: December 26-30, MCG
4th Test: January 5-9, SCG

The fourth match of the series will be played in Sydney and as usual the fifth and last match of the series will be played at Perth's Optus Stadium. But the fourth and last match will be played in January.
Australia suffered a 2–1 defeat in the three-Test series played against India in November 2020 and January this year.
Cricket Australia's interim chief executive Nick Hockley said, "The lessons learned from successfully delivering a safe summer in 20-21 gives us confidence on what we're able to achieve, and we're all hoping for a summer of full crowds and an Ashes atmosphere we're all accustomed to"

The only Test match for Australian Women will be played in Canberra on 27-30 January. After this, the women's team will play three T20I and three ODI matches.
Cricket Board Chief Executive Tom Harrison said that the year 2022 is going to be a great year for women's cricket.
Tom Harrison said; "With an Ashes, a World Cup in New Zealand and a home commonwealth games in Birmingham, this could be a landmark year for our team."
