Sri Lanka Cricket Board offered BCCI to host remaining matches of IPL 2021.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board has again like last year, offered BCCI to host the remaining matches of fourteenth season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021)

Following the deferment of IPL 2021, the inquiry at the forefront of everybody's thoughts is when will the excess rounds of the competition occur and where will they be played. Four England regional teams have written letters to the ECB expressing their desire to host the remaining games of the Indian Premier League season fourteen. At the same time, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has offered BCCI to compete in the T20 League in their home country. Sri Lanka said it was ready to host the IPL 2021 in September.

Arjuna D'Silva, Chief of the Managing Committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, in a meeting with the 'Deccan Chronicle' said, "Indeed, we can give a window in September to make the IPL 2021 matches a reality. We have heard that the UAE is one of the options. We look forward to hosting the Sri Lanka Premier League in July and August and the structures and infrastructure will be ready for the IPL 2021 in September. Sri Lanak offered to host IPL last year too, but the BCCI decided to have a tournament in the UAE.

However, the BCCI is not in a position to make any decision soon regarding the remaining IPL 2021 matches. IPL 2021 had be delayed after the emergence of a few Corona cases. 29 games have been played this season, while the same number of games will be played. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said that if the IPL were to be canceled for some reason, it would cause about 2500 crore losses to the board.
