Recently, it was continuously reported from media reports that some changes can be made in the series to be held in India and England for the IPL 2021 window, which was rejected by both boards. However, the BCCI demanded that the quarantine period of the Indian team be reduced so that the players get more time to practice. The England Cricket Board (ECB) has accepted BCCI's demand to relax quarantine. Team India, headed by Virat Kohli, will leave for India on June 2 to play the final of the World Test Championship and a five-match Test series against England.
According to the news of the CrickTracker, now Team India will have to stay in the rigorous and mandatory quarantine of just three days after reaching England, after which the Indian team will be allowed to practice from the fourth day. Team India had registered their name in the World Test Championship after losing the Test series to England 3–1. The WTC final will be played on 16-22 June between India and New Zealand in Southampton. New Zealand reached the final due to the cancellation of Australia vs South Africa test series.
It is also believed that the final of the WTC final will be played in the presence of the audience. About 4 thousand spectators can be allowed to enjoy the match. On May 19, 1500 spectators were allowed for the English County Championship match between Hampshire and Leicestershire. However, in the presence of the audience, all the rules were followed so that the corona virus infection could be avoided. This was the first time since September 2019, when a cricket match was played in the presence of spectators in England.
