Eight of the 11 England players who contended in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 got back on Wednesday, including Jose Butler and Johnny Bairstow. The organizers had to suspend the T20 league (IPL 2021) on Tuesday after four players from India were infected with the corona virus. According to Sky Sports, Sam Karan, Tom Karan, Sam Billings, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali and Jason Roy are also back in the UK.

England's skipper Eoin Morgan, David Malan and Chris Jordan are expected to leave India in the next 48 hours. The United Kingdom has placed India on the 'Red List' (danger list) due to the pandemic and as such the cricketers will have to stay in quarantine in a government approved facility for 10 days after returning due to postponement of IPL2021.

BCCI has assured all foreign cricketers that they will be safely sent to their countries. The biggest hurdle in this is coming with the Australian players as the Australian government has banned citizens coming from India till at least 15 May. In such a situation, the cricketers can stop in Maldives or Sri Lanka before returning home. The BCCI is additionally dedicated to take them out and afterward send them home by chartered airplane.

The IPL 2021 was postponed indefinitely on Tuesday after several cases of Covid-19 infection were reported in Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. Australia's 14 players, including coaches and commentators, will now return home by another route as the Australian government enforces stricter rules for those returning from India.
