 IPL STANDARD OPERATING PROTOCOLS


Indian Premier League ( IPL ) is a professional cricket league in India, organized by Board of Cricket Control for Cricket In India ( BCCI ), which has eight teams that represent eight cities of India. This is very popular league in all the cricket playing nations and every one waits for it eagerly. Normally this league is organized every year in the month of May or April. 

Since this year has been full of troubles which were brought by COVID 19. To avoid the spread of this disease this league was postponed and will now be organized in UAE. Keeping in mind this disease new protocols have been made and which is mandatory for every single member of teams to follow. New protocols for this years IPL are given below:


  • Teams cannot travel before 20th of August.
  • Every team must have one doctor.
  • Unlimited replacement is allowed but teams are advised to bring small squad, at once, with them.
FAMILIES OF PLAYER

  • Families are allowed to travel but they must stay within a bio secure bubble.
  • Franchise of teams have been given the authority to decide if families will come or not.
  • If they are allowed then they must not go out of that bubble and must not let anyone enter it.


HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS

  • All teams will stay in eight separate hotels.
  • Hotels in which teams will stay will be exclusively for them and outsiders will be allowed to visit.
  • If outsiders are allowed then atleast teams must have a separate wing which will have a separate entrance and exit.



PROTOCOLS OF PREDEPARTURE

  • Before leaving for UAE all team members will have to go through two tests.
  • Second test will be taken after 4 days of the first one.
  • Members can only fly to UAE if both the tests are negative.
  • If player tests positive then he will have to stay in quarantine for two weeks and again will have to take two tests.
  • After arrival in UAE teams will have to take one more test and stay in seven days quarantine.



TESTING PROTOCOLS

  • Even after testing negative all team players will stay in quarantine for seven days in team hotel.
  • In this seven days every team member will be tested thrice - on the first day, third day and sixth day.
  • If all the test results are negative only then teams can start practicing.
  • Each and every member of teams will be tested on 5th day of week i.e Friday.
  • If tested positive then again they will have to stay in isolation.


HOSPITAL VISITS

  • In case if a player gets injured then his visit to hospital is permitted for scannings, etc.
  • His visit is restricted to clinic and back.
  • It will be franchise's responsibility to ensure that there is minimal interaction with outsiders during the tour.
                                              This is how IPL will be conducted this year.
